More Space for Everyone
Boy oh Boy oh Boy is this a special day or what? Not only is it inBubbleFather's birthday (happy birthday pops), but our very own Todd Sattersten (my boss) is celebrating a cool anniversary. It was exactly one year ago today that Todd was able to relish the fruits of his own idea. It was on this very day in 2005 that Mr. SatterSTAR finally introduced to the world More Space: Nine Antidotes to Complacency in Business. So I don't want to tell you too much about the book since everyone is getting one, but here's the gist. More Space presents 9 very talented business bloggers writing in their own unique style. Basically, Todd called and email and sent smoke signals to all of his favorite business web log operators to see if they wanted to expand upon an idea that he had been kicking around. What Toddmeister wanted to do was "challenge the idea that places of business can only be cold and uninspiring." And, boy were these bloggers up to the challenge. Seth, Jory, Curt, Jeremy (just to name a few) all tackled a business topic they were particularly interested in, and this list you must see.
Passion, Authenticity, Productivity, Change, Community, Simplicity, Innovation, Perspective.
I'd say tackling those topics is a pretty darn good way to re-engage yourself or an employee by re-igniting passion and enthusiasm in your, or their, work. And that's what this is all about right? Isn't that the reason most of you read business books. Whether it's informational or inspirational, it's always about finding ways to further engage your self, to educate yourself, to improve yourself and become better. Business isn't a cold way to be a slave to the grind, it can be extremely rewarding and inspiring.
OK, that's all I'll tell you guys because you are all going to get the book and devour it within the first several hours after you rip open some pink bubble wrap.
